Communicating Sustainability
A small guidebook on how to avoid greenwashing your company and products.
Consumers are increasingly looking for sustainable products, and to meet their demands there are multiple ways in which companies have started to communicate their initiatives. Unfortunately, while most is well-intentioned, there is still about 50% of the claims in the EU which could be considered greenwashing.
This booklet has been made based on research provided by the CSSN Working Group on Spinning Climate Change, where they analysed how sustainability claims are being made, and where they fall short.
We hope that with this booklet in hand, you will be able to go over your claims before you go public, and make sure that you feel confident in what you are claiming.
